Street Team
We’re up to something… Something big. In the coming months you’ll be seeing a lot of us. We’re currently mixing the follow-up EP to 2018’s Catharsis, booking shows, planning new merch and a lot of secret goodies that we can’t disclose just yet. But make no mistake, 2019 will one of the biggest years for Sleep for the Weary yet. And we want you to join us.
While the music we make comes from a very personal place, the success of our band is owed far beyond its members. You, our fans, have a monumental hand in how far this music can go. So now we are asking for a few of our most dedicated fans to join us as we pursue a new level. We are assembling a Street Team to not only take SFTW as far as it can go, but to also form a closer relationship with our fans. What does a Street Team member do? While social media plays a big part for bands, we aren’t calling it a Street Team for nothing. In addition to helping us grow our reach online (and there are lots of ways to help us with that), you’ll be putting up concert posters and promotional items, calling radio stations to request songs, and telling your friends about SFTW to name a few. In exchange for helping us reach our new and existing fans, you’ll earn free merch, gain access to exclusive content, and much more. This is our invitation to join us on a grassroots level to create something bigger than ourselves in our common love of this music. If you are committed and willing to put in some time with us and be a part of the music we believe in, comment on this post below and provide your email in the appropriate field. We’ll then reach out to you directly, so keep your eyes on your inbox. And to all of our fans, Street Team or not, we can’t thank you enough for taking time out of your lives to listen to our music. You truly are meaningful to us. – Ian, Eric, Robb, and John
Stuck In The Middle With You
Through a collaboration with our friends at the Rancor’s Brothel podcast, we’re proud to present our reimagining of Stealers Wheel’s hit Stuck in the Middle With You. The guys as Rancor’s Brothel have created a special experience with Dockside Dogs, which offers a horror themed spin on Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs. Their podcast of this game can be currently be found exclusively through their Patreon page for their supporters. Support them, listen to their exclusive content, and see why we completely bastardized a perfectly good song https://www.patreon.com/Rancors_Brothel
For your listening pleasure, we’ve also released this cover across all major digital music outlets. Stream it on Spotify, download it from Google Play or iTunes, or just give it a listen in the YouTube video below.
Give, Take (Sleepy and Weary Version)
At a recent rehearsal, we decided to flip one of our songs inside out and make it into something new. You’ve Heard Give’ Take off of our debut album In To and Out From, but you haven’t heard it like this. Turn the lights out, lay down, close your eyes, and go somewhere different with us. This is our “Sleepy and Weary” version of Give, Take.
This Wednesday…
Follow this link on Wednesday (August 15th) for an exclusive episode of the Rancor’s Brothel podcast featuring Sleep for the Weary. You’ll hear a side of us you’ve never heard before. So don’t miss Rancor’s Brothel this Wednesday!
Rock Around the Region interview: Part 1
Eric, Ian, and John joined Samantha Knight for some beers and conversation. Here’s part 1 of what happened, as well as some killer music from the southeast region. The conversation starts at the 19:46 mark. Tune into Z97.5 this Sunday at 8pm central for part 2.
On Catharsis: a proper introduction
Four quiet, mild-mannered, and somewhat normal individuals come together to make something beyond ourselves. Something that can be anything we need it to be, and potentially something you need it to be, should our paths meet. What began as one album became something more. Eventually, it became clear that in order for these songs to do what we believe they are meant to do, they should be delivered separately and in a deliberate order. Catharsis is part one of a three-part album we refer to as Readings 1-3. Displayed as cards in a tarot reading, each part represents a step in growth or otherwise ascension. Be it personal, spiritual, or ideological growth, these parts serve separate needs yet work together to function as a whole. The remaining parts will be revealed throughout the progression of 2018. After much time, intension, and hopeless passion, we are honored to share this music with you. Careful thought has been placed into every detail of the music, artwork, and additional material we are releasing in support of this album. It is with great gratitude that we offer you Catharsis through these digital music services: Spotify iTunes Apple Music Google Play Amazon Shazam Pandora Deezer Tidal Napster iHeartRadio ClaroMusica Saavn MediaNet We want you to know that your support moves mountains for us. Thank you for taking the time to listen to our music. And as we share it with you, we hope that you’ll share it with others as well.
Sincerely,
Ian, Robb, John, and Eric

Shows and Merch
show dates this summer. We get the chance to share the stage with some amazing talent and some good friends that we’ve been eager to rock with. Also we have added a “Store” tab to our site that will direct you to our online merch store at Square. We have physical cd’s available and are working on various other cool goodies that we love and know you will too. These items can also be purchased at our shows as available. In the meantime, our album is available digitally on most online music services (iTunes, Spotify, GooglePlay, Amazon, etc.) as well as the physical cd from our Square store. Up to this point, we are a self-made band. So everything you purchase goes directly to us. Thank you for your support. Come say “hey” at one of our shows!]]>
